Henry Ford’s Attic

Instructor:  Mike Skinner · Local History

Henry's Attic is a documentation of some of the millions of artifacts in the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village that were originally collected by or on behalf of the auto pioneer. While interesting as individual items, collectively they constitute a fascinating insight into the mind of one of the most intriguing American industrialists. The variety of Ford’s interests and how they fit into his view of history makes for a unique and valuable presentation with a strong local orientation.

About the Presenter:  Mike Skinner is a native Detroiter with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wayne State. He has been a Detroit and Ford history buff for more than a half century and is a past president of the Dearborn and Grosse Pointe Historical Societies. He has also been a board member and volunteer at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant since the building was acquired and converted into a museum in 2000.
